I must say Kevin, you’d have us believe that you actually have a heart afterall. Just kidding. But that peice had a romantic element that I have never seen from you before.

Here’s what I think. I don’t really think that polite disagreement is workable. It may be polite in your eyes but it is confrontational anyway. People feel like they need to make a defense for themselves. Here’s what I have seen you do before: Politely disagree. Then be quiet. But, that gives the impression that you think that the person with whom you disagree is an idiot. That’s just how it comes across. Here’s something you might try: Neither agree nor disagree…make no comment or make some ambiguous comment like, “I can see how someone might think that” and then leave it.

I’ve seen circuit overseers do that in the past. Worls great. Win, Win situation.
