On the Eve of Something I Shuddered to Say…

I listen to a lot of music. Not really so much at home, cause, well I’m rarely at home for more than an hour if I’m not sleeping. In my car though, I am almost always listening to music, or NPR. The radio doesn’t really appeal to me since it’s not up to me what they play. With the exception of two radio shows. On Saturday nights, on 104.1 FM around 11:00 pm their is a radio show called Final Hours I think, it’s changed names like 4 times, which plays a lot of indie stuff. I like it cause it exposes me to stuff I wouldn’t hear anywhere else. Then the real gem of Orlando radio comes on at 7:00 pm Sundays, still 104.1 FM. Sunday Night Vinyl has been a champion of Retro Progressive music for years. I’ve listened to that show since I was 12.

Since I have to listen to my own music collection so much I have started to invest in it more. Here is a list of what I bought recently.

The Boomtown Rats - Art of Surfacing (Best of)
The Undertones - Teenage Kicks (Best of)
The Dears - No Cities Left
Arcade Fire - Funeral
Arcade Fire - Self-titled
Doves - Some Cities
The Futureheads - Self-titled
Kaiser Chiefs - Employment
Hot Hot Heat- Elevator
New Order - Waiting for the Sirens Call
The Rolling Stones - Forty Licks
The Walkmen - Bows + Arrows
The Smiths - The Queen is Dead
Massive Attack - 100th Window
British Sea Power - Open Season
Belle & Sebastian -Dear Catastrophe Waitress
Belle & Sebastian - Push Barman to Open Old Wounds
Bloc Party - Silent Alarm
Joan Jett & The Blackhearts - Fit to Be Tied
Joan Jett & The Blackhearts - I Love Rock ‘N Roll
The Shins - Chutes Too Narrow
The Psychedelic Furs - (Best of)
Weezer - Make Believe

I didn’t like everything. But maybe some of it will grow on me in time. Keep in mind I didn’t buy all this in one day. It’s been over the past few months.

P.S. If you wrap chicken fingers in pepper jack cheese it’s really good.

Hey, that’s a great list. It gives me some ideas. What do you think of the new Weezer? Also, have to agree on the radio shows. We were listening one Sat. night and were blown away by the fantastic playlist. Actually, it sounded a little like our own playlist.
