You say the length of the skirt is an issue and you compare it to a jacket, but if you knew no matter what jacket you wore the wind would blow right up it anyway and it would not offer you any actual warmth you might give up the jacket and figure the gloves are at least some protection. Now we girls really don't have the option of giving up the skirt. I think someone would be offended, but we do have options on the length. And no matter how long your skirt is, it doesn't actually offer much warmth ad the wind does blow right up....so you see, the boots do offer warmth that no skirt can, and the skirt longer or shorter makes no difference on warmth-factor.
