Retracing Synaptic Steps

It took longer than I expcted to figure where I got a thought from the other day. I find it amazing how long it will take me to rememeber what I was thinking when I thought about something, and then figure out what I think about what I thought. Or who. It’s there somewhere though. I enjoy finding it. Of course, it’s all in my head.

I got some awesome note cards. They feature illustrations by Kawase Hasui. I found myself drawn to Borders the other night. I drove by and thought, “oh I am so going there right now.” I turned around and went. Thats pretty out of pattern for me, I’m not real keen on the solo outings. But hey, I’m trying to be a big boy.

They had an interesting mix of patrons that night. Lots of laptops running in the cafe. Not very many children. With the exception of myself. Language section had some interesting things. So did the Travel section. I need to find a nice map. Real nice. I’m talking detail.

I tried doing a color pencil drawing of a nature scene. Pretty sad. Ahh, it’s an outlet what do I mind. I like coloring though. That is down right enjoyable.

i dont know about your nature scene, but you seem to color quite well in your moleskine.
Unless the map just looks plain cool, like with tattered edges and stuff, I’ve never found maps interesting at all. That was until I was in a foreign place and actually needed one.
