“You Boys in School Out Here?”
MN is nice. I rather enjoy the clean feel of St. Paul.
Nice adventure getting here. Starts on Thursday morning with a missed flight. I missed the cut off time for boarding by about 15 minutes. So I was delayed in until 11:40 am. After that flying went smooth and I arrived in MN around 4:30 pm. Mandy and Kristin and Jereme all picked me up and we crammed my luggage and body into the already full Toyota Corolla. We fit amazingly. Dropped off some luggage at a locals house before hitting the road to Crookston. Crookston came around 12 am.
The car broke down overnight so Jereme and I headed out to walk around the city while the girls waited for the mechanic. While sitting in the only thing that even remotely resembled a cafe Jereme popped out the MacBook and found some Wi-Fi. The clerk looks over at ‘that nice puter’ and informs us that the library, about two blocks away, has wireless interent if we were interested. Jereme informed him that we were using it. Haha, I love Wi-Fi. We headed over to the Express Personnel Services office to sign up for the harvest. Bob quickly informed us that we could not sign up and had to come back on Monday. Mandy called Bob back and informed him we could sign up and we did. Thanks Mandy.
Car still isn’t fixed by the afternoon so we head out to find some food. At least they have a Subway. Now we return home and start the realization that we are currently stuck in this podunk little town. The hunt for a way out ensues and around 8 pm Mandy finds someone that will drive the 2 and a half hours out to pick us up. Nice brother for sure. Wife made fantastic pancakes.
Jereme and I go rent a car Saturday morning so as to be on our way to the cities. Took a detour through Duluth to verify that it is indeed a ‘cool city’ but I left with no actual proof of that, aside from a photo stating such. I tried. Browsed around the Electric Fetus a bit also.
Made into St. Paul by 5 pm. Caught up with Hiromi and Robbie and then headed out to Cindy Iversons apartment to hang Holland’s paintings she is showing at the St. Paul Art Crawl. Nice paintings. Nice apartment. HUGE doors. Went for a nice walk through the city and by the Mississippi. Found lots of high society being released like cattle from the theaters. Nice to have theaters around though.
I guess I’m gonna head out to pick up some stuff from the store soon. I saw blue sky this morning. It had been raining since we landed.

Ahh the twin cities. Electric Fetus is great. Cheepo Records, too. And I’m getting misty for 400 Bar, First Avenue at 7th Street Entry and Benedict’s Guitars. Check out the Sculpture Garden if you have a chance. Good place for photo ops. Have fun with all those dead beets.
